How to Install Computer CD/DVD and Floppy Drives |
In this step I will install the DVD Burner, DVD Drive and a floppy drive. Again, as always, I have to unpack the items and check them for visual defects.
- The first thing I will do is start installing the two DVD drives. I need to slide the drives into the appropriate slots in the computer case and secure them using four screws.

- The same procedure will be used as I install the second DVD drive.

- Next I have to install the SATA power cables from the power supply and the SATA connectors from the motherboard.

- Note: I ended up moving the DVD drives down one slot each so I will have extra space because the power supply cables are so long. Again, this is only a mid atx case and I will have more room when I expand to a full case.
- I will again repeat the procedure to install the final drive, which is the floppy drive. I will slide it into the appropriate slot and secure it to the case with the mounting screws. Then I will need to install the floppy drive cable and floppy drive power connector.
